Modern European and British flavours are the core of our dishes at Number Eight, focused on luxury artisan products found locally and further afield, using suppliers that Stuart and the team have built up great respect and relationships with over many years.
Please see the below links to our sample menus. We update these as regularly as possible. However, for this week's exact menu please contact the restaurant directly.
Contact 8 London Rd, Sevenoaks TN13 1AJtonka10014 April 2024Good food and good ambiance. This was our second visit. Having visited when it originally opened. The food was tonight was superb and some of the main issues we had from our first visit have been ironed out. Those included the rooms lighting. Which is now, a more pleasant room and creates a good ambiance. The restaurant is popular and full of with diners and a few drinking cocktails at the bar. The menu was acceptable. With just enough variety for the different needs across our group. Well done to the team in evolving the venue.J J28 March 2024First visit A very nice first visit to Number 8. We had the set lunchtime menu. As my dining partner has an intolerance the chef and team were meticulous in setting out which dishes were suitable and which were not, adjusting the dish chosen accordingly. Very nice food. A friendly front of house team. We will be back.Leigh P10 March 2024Spoilt on Mothers Day 🩷 Mothers Day! Just had a lovely family meal, thank you No 8 for making it a great one. We’ve been a few times with friends and family and it is consistently good.Maps2177534482828 January 2024Everything outstanding Everything outstanding! Sunday lunch better than any posh pub, gravy and meat top notch! Really pleased to see a good kids menu. Service super friendly, and very attentive. Is a shame we didn’t find this little gem sooner, this will definitely become a regular!Hoppityskip14 January 2024Another superb visit Came back for Sunday lunch. Despite my concern the beef was as rare as I love it. The roast was 99% perfect, just marginally crisper please! The veg, in particular, the carrot was quite superb. The dessert of a frozen Arctic 8 was superb, the salted caramel wasn't salty, thank goodness. Delightful staff. Great experience.Dave M16 December 2023Excellent proper restaurant in 7Oaks First class food with first class service. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Beautifully presented and a warm calm atmosphere. Thank you. PS. Nice wine list !Maisie10 December 2023Delicious Food and Great Drinks This spot is perfect for a cute little date night or family celebrations. The cocktails were delicious and food was incredible - unfortunately we ordered something to spicy and couldn't appreciate how good everything really was. The only downside to this restaurant was that we did feel slightly rushed out of our table throughout the night as bookings are only held in 1+1/2 or 2 hour slots from what I can remember. Despite this, the servers were friendly and atmosphere was really cosy. Cocktail prices were very reasonable! Would definitely recommend.Sarzi197316 November 2023Wonderful Food and Ambience We came here for a lunch, having heard good things about the restaurant. We had espresso martinis, which were excellent, and a good red wine. We had the tempura prawns and Korean BBQ chicken to start. Portions were hearty and perfectly cooked. The Prawns were huge. We then both had the short rib of beef, which was tender and delicious. The food cannot be faulted. Service is attentive without being intrusive. I would highly recommend Number8, and will definitely be returning. Thank you!Brian M3 November 2023First impressions can deceive As we planned an afternoon visit to the local cinema last Wednesday, lunch with grandchildren at Number 8 just across the road seemed a smart idea. The restaurant opened in March 2022 and is the second owned and operated by a local Kent family – the other being in Chiselhurst. I tried to book online but found the process far too complicated so called the restaurant during open hours last Sunday but no one picked up the phone. Called subsequently and left a voice message and also sent an email. No response to either on Monday or Tuesday morning so called again. The answer was that they were too busy on Sunday to handle calls, the restaurant was closes on Mondays and they had not yet started to sift through messages on Tuesday. Surely potential customers should not have to work this hard just to make a booking? However, we were pleasantly surprised by the modern, low-key décor and relaxing ambience. Tables are set well apart so conversations are not easily overheard. The welcome was warm and we settled in to our comfortable 4-seater booth equipped with menus. Such a pleasant contrast to my first impressions when trying to book! Starters included Korean BBQ buttermilk chicken with hot and sour dipping sauce (£12.00) which offered about half a dozen crisp. hot and tasty bites plus Tempura prawns with harissa mayo (£12.00) with a crunchy coating and tangy sauce. Both dishes served hot and were good value. Mains were Crab fettucine with prawn sauce, spring onions and chilli (£20.00). I felt the sauce rather drowned the delicate crab meat and the overall dish was more cooking mess than culinary masterpiece but it was acceptable to eat. As far as the two grandchildren were concerned, the dessert of Mini biscoff doughnuts with raspberry and white cremeux (£8.00) was the star dish of the lunch but for me it was the Happy Birthday slate written in chocolate. Service throughout was understated but helpful and efficient. The total bill for 4 was £179.94 including 12.5% service with Happy Birthday repeated on the invoice. Nice touch!!
